Which Books for the Library? Feedback/Ideas Needed!
On the AP-Psych listserv, the question was asked as to what psychology books we would recommend for a school to add to its own library. I find this to be a fascinating question. I have my own favorites which I will add later, but please take a moment to add your own idea(s) in the comments. If I were to add one, this one would be it.
There are many, many more, but this is my current first choice.

My kids have a reading assignment for the semester, and I have a list of about 40 books they can choose from. Some of the ones that kids thing are the most interesting are: The Lucifer Effect, Outliers (or anything by Gladwell), How we Decide, 50 Great Myths of Popular Psychology, Nurture Shock, Brain Rules, Thinking in Pictures, Predictably Irrational, Picking Cotton, Forty Studies that Changed Psychology, and Columbine (the one by Cullen).

Not so much related to any aspect of a high school psychology course, but I'd definitely recommend 'The Dice Man' by Luke Rhinehart as a brilliant (semi)fictional book. If you've not heard of it, it's about a psychiatrist who chooses to make all his life's decisions based on the cast of a dice. I thought it was great.
